I joined the Partnership on June 1, 2022. I was initially encouraged by the altruistic values of the Partnership in bettering the city I love to live in; and the fact that the team was small but still very grounded and connected to, passionate about, and efficient in achieving the Partnership’s goals. It is wonderful to feel like such a vital part of their mission.
I am motivated to contribute to a mission that actually creates positive change in the city that I love to live in. It is very rewarding to know that the work I do directly helps in that endeavor.
I think the Partnership will help me to develop my skills in and understanding of Thought Leadership. I can also see myself growing here professionally, acting as a liaison for not just our Executive team, but our whole team and all its initiatives. I feel I could be the proverbial glue that helps hold the Partnership staff, and all of our partnering organizations, together.
It would be the seemingly haphazard urban planning that has broken DC up into very distinct socioeconomic groupings. I feel that certain parts of the city are known for experiencing inequities amongst access to basic necessities and education while others are not, and I would love for there to not be such clear lines between thriving and underserved DC neighborhoods. They all deserve equal access to all opportunities that the District offers.
I love bringing my dog to Glencarlyn Dog Park, in the Four-Mile Run area of Shirlington, VA. She loves to swim in the creek and the nature preserve surrounding it is gorgeous and transports me out of the city.
