On Wednesday, January 29, we hosted over 75 workforce development and education leaders at “The Future of Talent: Higher Education’s Role in Workforce Development,” our latest Partnership Conversation Series. This in-person dialogue featured university and community college Presidents Maurice Edington of the University of the District of Columbia, Mark R. Ginsberg of Towson University and Anne Kress of Northern Virginia Community College.

Held at Accenture in downtown DC, we were joined by moderator Brandon Busteed, CEO of BrandEd Holdings and speakers David Metnick, Managing Director at Accenture and Andrew Flagel, President & CEO of the Consortium of Universities of the Washington Metropolitan Area.

The presidents discussed their efforts to engage with employers and community stakeholders and enhanced student career readiness.

Key takeaways:
🔹Public institutions are deeply embedded in the communities in which they are located, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between local employers and other community stakeholders.
🔹Postsecondary leaders are innovating how they partner with their peers throughout the region to best prepare the talent of tomorrow.
🔹Employers can support educators and students by developing deep institutional relationships and validating curriculum through advisory boards.

Thank you to our host Accenture, esteemed guest panelists and the regional leaders who joined our audience for this important dialogue.
