It’s been about three weeks since I started as the new CEO of the Greater Washington Partnership. I’d like to take a moment to introduce myself and share a bit about why I am thrilled to lead this team and work with our Board and all of you.
This region has been my home for three decades. It is where I have built my career and it is where my husband and I have chosen to raise our son.
I joined the Partnership because I believe in its mission to advance shared prosperity and economic competitiveness and to make this region the best place to live, work, and build a business.
The Partnership’s current efforts around inclusive growth, regional mobility, infrastructure, and skills and talent remain our key priorities. As I engage in conversation and learn more from key stakeholders this will also enhance the work.
The impacts of the pandemic continue to be felt throughout the Capital Region and that is why the Partnership will focus on building on these efforts. We’ll continue to convene regional leaders and find solutions to our shared challenges.
I will continue to advocate for regional collaboration to ensure the business community is at the forefront of advancing shared prosperity across our region.
I’ve spent these first couple of weeks listening and learning from many of you. I am so excited to hit the road and continue these conversations in the weeks and months ahead.
Onward,
Kathy
